Alternatively, you may just be looking for a stylish, great-sounding Bluetooth speaker for your own personal use. Luckily, the Marsboy Orb is nice for the home or office as well. Here’s a closer look at this uniquely-designed speaker and what it has to offer.
What’s Inside the Box

Setup and Usage
There really isn’t any setup needed for the speaker. You can take it out of the box and start using it right away. However, it is a good idea to give it a full charge before usage (it takes approximately three to five hours to fully charge). If you already have a micro-USB cable that you use for your mobile devices, that will work just fine – no need to unravel the one in the box. The first thing you’ll probably notice about the Marsboy Orb Bluetooth Speaker is the way it looks: it’s extremely stylish. It becomes even more attractive once you turn it on and see the LEDs light up. There are actually seven different visual displays that can be chosen via the LED Visual Mode button. Each LED visual display is unique and helps to set the mood (or just function as a night light), whether you’re trying to relax or having a party. The speaker is medium in size (150 x 148 x 138 mm). I would say it’s about the size of an average cantaloupe. Even though it does take up some space, it looks great on a table or desk and stays put thanks to the sturdy flat base. Using the AUX port, you can connect it directly to your computer, laptop, or mobile device if needed. This is great if you don’t want to use Bluetooth or for some reason don’t have support for it. For example, I can’t get Bluetooth to work on my 6-year-old desktop, so having this option really comes in handy. What’s also nice about this speaker is that you can pair it with another Marsboy Orb. Doing this causes each one to act as a stereo speaker (one left and one right). This is great if you want to amplify the sound or simply want to use them as computer or TV speakers.
Ports and Navigation
The speaker has an on/off switch, but if you just want to use the LEDs, you can press and hold down the LED Visual Mode button to turn them on without turning on the speaker. There’s also a slot for a micro-SD card so that you can play media directly from it through the speaker. It’s charged via a micro-USB cable and also includes a built-in 3,000 mAh battery for up to 12 hours of play time. If you only use it for an hour or two here and there, you’ll be able to go all week (or more) without recharging. For navigation, there are five buttons: previous/volume up (hold down for volume control), next/volume down (hold down for volume control), pause/play/answer, TWS mode (for pairing two Marsboy Orb speakers or switching from Bluetooth to line in and vice versa), and the LED visual mode (hold down to power on lights only). The built-in microphone is great for making and receiving phone calls, and there are even a few convenient calling features. For instance, you can double press the answer button to redial the last call you made. While you’re in phone mode, the speaker will also announce the incoming phone number as well as announce when the call has ended.
Sound Quality
I’m not hard to please when it comes to sound. This speaker doesn’t have extremely hard-hitting bass, but it’s good enough for someone like me who doesn’t like a lot of bass. I found that the volume goes fairly loud too – even louder when connected to my desktop. Compared to other Bluetooth speakers I’ve tried, I’d say the volume level puts it in the top five that I’ve tried. The sound itself is very clear. There’s no static or any type of distortion. Even when the speaker is idle, it remains quiet without any feedback in the background (like others I’ve tried). The speaker has a Bluetooth range of up to 49.5 feet, so your device doesn’t have to be next to the speaker for good playback. In a small apartment like mine, I can easily leave my mobile device in one spot and carry the speaker with me from room to room without the sound breaking up or the quality suffering.
Final Thoughts
The Marsboy Orb Bluetooth Speaker has many great features along with visually stunning LED lights. Its top-notch, crisp sound is also impressive. The only thing that some may crave more of is bass; it’s definitely not at 100%. However, the selling points for this speaker are the LEDs, pairing mode for stereo sound, and the hands-free calling features, none of which disappoint.
