Save Windows 10 Spotlight Images
Even though there is no straightforward way, saving Windows 10 Spotlight images is easy as most of the wallpapers are stored on your hard drive. All you have to do is find and copy them. To do that, open the File Explorer and navigate to your home folder, such as C:\Users\yourUserName. Once you are there, select the “View” tab and then the “Hidden Items” checkbox. This action will show you all the hidden folders.
Now, find and open the “AppData” folder.
From here, navigate to the following location.
Here you will see files with random names and no file extensions. We need to edit these files to find our lock screen wallpapers, so copy all the files in the folder and paste them somewhere in your hard drive. In my case, I’ve copied all those files to my G drive.
Once you are done copying the files, “Shift + Right-click” on the empty area in File Explorer and select the option “Open Command Prompt Here.”
After opening the Command Prompt, copy the below command and execute it. All we are doing is adding the file extension”.jpg” to all the files in the target folder.
If you don’t like to use the Command Prompt, then download any renaming utility, like Bulk Renaming Utility, and install it. After installing, open the application, navigate to the folder, select all the files, and add “.jpg” as the suffix.
As soon as the renaming is done, you will see the most recent lock screen wallpapers.
Now, all the files you copied are not wallpapers. There will be cache files, app thumbnails, etc. Moreover, as you can see from the above image, along with the traditional desktop wallpapers, you will also have wallpapers cropped in portrait mode. These wallpapers will be a good fit for your mobile devices, so copy them to your mobile.
