What’s in the Box

Inside the box you’ll find the speaker, micro-USB cable for charging, 3.5mm audio cable for directly connecting to a device, and a user manual. You’ll notice that the cables are silver which goes along with the color scheme of the speaker, which is a great touch.

Using the Elegiant Transparent Bluetooth Speaker

The speaker has a power button on the front that has an LED indicator to let you know the status of the speaker. For instance, when the battery is low, it flashes red but remains steady red when charging. Long-pressing the power button turns the speaker on/off. When in use, you can short-press the power button to pause/play audio.

On the back of the speaker you’ll find three buttons: M (for mode), + (plus), and – (minus). The + and – buttons can be short-pressed to adjust the volume or long pressed to change the song (previous/next).

There’s an AUX IN jack for the audio cable and DC IN jack for the micro-USB cable. There’s a small hole in between these jacks. It looks like a microphone but is actually used to reset the speaker (using a needle) in case it malfunctions. Finally, there’s the bass reflex hole on the right end of the speaker which “enables the sound from the rear side of the diaphragm to increase the efficiency of the system at low frequencies.”

As already mentioned, there are LED lights that shine through the transparent casing of the speaker; you can see them glowing in each corner. Short-pressing the “M” button allows you to change the color (red, blue, green) or turn them off completely.

I’ve been using the Elegiant transparent Bluetooth speaker with my Galaxy S8, and it works flawlessly. It paired within seconds and connects automatically whenever I turn it on and have Bluetooth enabled on my mobile device.

Performance: Does It Deliver?

Honestly, I wasn’t ready for what I heard the first time I tried this Bluetooth speaker. The sound literally blew my husband and me away. It was so loud that I jumped a little because it startled me – and it was only at the half volume mark. Admittedly, the sound of the Elegiant transparent Bluetooth speaker goes way too loud for comfort in an apartment, condo, or multi-family home – which isn’t bad at all but just something to be mindful of with close neighbors. This amazing sound quality is thanks to dual 12W acoustic drivers and a dual passive subwoofer. The speaker also has the hardest-hitting bass I’ve heard in awhile from a Bluetooth speaker. I have an expensive Bluetooth speaker from a popular name brand, and the bass on it just doesn’t compare; this speaker blows it out of the water! The speaker has a built-in lithium battery (7.4V/2600mAh). Depending on the volume level, you can get up to twelve hours of playtime. At a medium-low volume level and listening for just a few hours a day, I’ve gone a whole week without charging. It only takes around 4-6 hours to completely charge the speaker.

Final Thoughts

While I’m totally in love with this Bluetooth speaker, there are a few things that could be improved, and they all have to do with the LED lights; sadly, there was a missed opportunity with them.

The lights are dim and only noticeable in a room that is pitch black or very close to it. If I want to enjoy the lights, I can’t do it while being productive because I’d have to turn all of the lights off in the room (including my desk lamp). The lights don’t flash or blink at all. With a speaker like this you almost expect the lights to start dancing (flashing or blinking along with the music), but they don’t. It’s a little disappointing but by no means a deal-breaker.

All-in-all, though, I give this speaker two thumbs up for its unique design, impressive sound, and unbelievable bass. Elegiant Transparent Bluetooth Speaker
